On September 20th, the 2nd Annual INSPIRE CAREER CONCERT was hosted by Auglaize, Mercer, Darke, and Shelby Counties. The event provided opportunities for seniors from the four counties to speak with over 100 business professionals and learn more about local opportunities. Seniors from all Mercer and Auglaize County schools attended. Many Mercer and Auglaize County businesses reported positive conversations and interactions with students during the day. Music and motivational words were provided by Attaboy, a band who performs regularly for high school audiences. “Many people say it’s who you know….., but I say it’s who knows you,” shared a band member with the listening seniors.

This event is a great example of collaboration in action. The event’s Gold Sponsors were: Advanced Composites, Inc., Classic Carriers, Inc., Crown Equipment Corporation, and Ross Aluminum Castings. Event organizers included: Hometown Opportunity, Auglaize Mercer Business Education Alliance (AMBE), Partnering for Progress, Darke County Economic Development, Workforce Partnership of Shelby County, Mercer County ESC, Auglaize County ESC, Midwest Regional ESC, City of Sidney, Sidney Shelby Economic Partnership, Auglaize County, Darke County, Mercer County, Shelby County, Shelby County Dept. of Job & Family Services, and Edison State Community College.
