Tips for Students: How to Make Your Job Shadowing a Success
Share these tips with your student to help them get the most out of their shadowing opportunity.
Arrive on time and dress appropriately. Try to at least match the formality of the people working at your job shadow site.
Prepare a list of questions beforehand and ask them throughout the job shadowing. This shows respect as well as interest.
Be polite and attentive during the job shadowing. You may want to take notes to help you remember everything you discuss.
Show your appreciation at the end of the day. In addition to a verbal thank-you, an email or handwritten note will be appreciated.
