Each year, AMBE captures the attention of OVER 700 local/future talent via the Talent Connection Forum. Instead of March Madness it’s Student Madness as busloads of area high school juniors and seniors descend on Wright State UniversityLake Campus to get a closer look at their possible future careers.
The Auglaize Mercer Business Alliance hosts the career event which allows students to make connections with local business. Students get answers about real-world careers from area business members. The students visit with local business professionals representing several different career paths.
One of the big advantages of the Talent Connection Forum is the kids can hear directly from business professionals that actually work, or own and operate business in this area. The information gathered by the students can help them determine if they want to go to into a technical field, go directly in the workforce, or attend a four year university. It gives them the awareness of what opportunities are around here and what the businesses do.” We want the students to seek answers before they decide what they are going to do after high school.
At the 2017 TCF, we had 43 businesses participate with 102 business professionals. The local businesses include 49 Degrees, AAP, Auglaize County ESC, Auglaize County Job & Family Services, Auglaize County Sheriff , Beckman & Gast, Brick Haus Salon, Buschur Electric, Celina Insurance Group, Celina Moving & Storage, Celina Tent, Coldwater Dental, Coldwater Machine, Cooper Farms, Cotterman Roofing, Crown, 17 West, Fanning Howey, Fort Recovery Industries, Foundations Behavioral Health, Garmann Miller, Grand Lake Health, HA Dorsten, Lefeld Welding, NKTelco, Maria Stein Animal Clinic, Marketing Essentials, Mercer County ESC, Mercer County Sheriff, Mercer Health, Mercer Savings Bank, Momentum Counseling, NIDEC Minster, Pax Machine, Post Printing, Precision Strip, Center for Leadership UD, Romer’s Catering, Stammen Insurance, Stroh & Johnson, Tomorrow’s Technology Today, Totally Promotional, Weigandt Real Estate and WLIO.
